How Tindre works

See how organizational knowledge becomes governed answers wherever people ask.

Tindre gives an organization one governed foundation for answers, no matter where people ask. Standards state what the organization has decided. Knowledge supplies supporting facts and context. Agents decide what to retrieve and how to answer. An Agent's Modality and its Deliveries determine where the answer appears.

01

Standards and Knowledge

The organization’s rules, facts, and source material.

02

Agent

Instructions, scope, model, and available Connectors.

03

Where it answers

Home, Chat, AI clients over API and MCP, and an Agent's Deliveries.

Start with the foundation

Use a Standard for an authoritative rule people are expected to follow. Use Knowledge for explanations, references, files, websites, and other supporting material. A Standard can override ordinary Knowledge when both are relevant to an internal answer.

Build the Agent

An Agent combines instructions with a model, the Connectors it may call, and the Areas that carry its Knowledge and Standards. It does not copy this material into a separate knowledge base. It reads the governed sources it is allowed to reach when a question arrives.

Choose where it answers

Employees can use Tindre through Home and Chat. Builders configure an Agent and give it a website widget. AI clients reach the same foundation through Tindre’s API and MCP access.

What happens when someone asks a question?

Tindre first resolves who is asking and where the question came from. That identity and delivery point set the access boundary. The selected Agent then works within its instructions and active scope, retrieving only the Standards and Knowledge the caller may read. If a Connector is attached to the Agent, or to an active Area, the Agent may also use its capabilities.

The answer should preserve evidence from the material it used. An internal answer can use an applicable Standard as the governing source. An Agent answering the public cannot retrieve Standards and must rely on visitor-safe Knowledge. This distinction is deliberate: the same Agent can serve several places without making every place equally trusted.

What changes between the places an answer appears?

The foundation stays shared, but the operating boundary changes. Home knows the signed-in employee and can respect their organizational access. An AI client acts through the identity represented by its credential. A widget serves anonymous visitors and therefore has a narrower source and capability set.

An Agent carries at most one Modality and as many Deliveries as it needs. Changing a Delivery changes its domain, appearance and visitor-facing text without creating a second Agent.
