Source status and health

Read processing states correctly and know when imported Knowledge is ready for answers.

An imported Source passes through processing before its content can be retrieved. Status describes that operational state; it is not a judgment about whether the content is accurate or useful.

01

Waiting

The Source is recorded and waiting for work.

02

Processing

Content is being fetched, extracted, or divided for retrieval.

03

Ready

The current revision is available to the retrieval projection.

04

Failed

The latest processing attempt needs attention.

Ready means technically available

A ready Source can be used by an Agent that has it in scope and by a reader with access. It does not guarantee that the source is current, clearly written, or relevant to a particular question.

Investigate failures at the origin

For a file, check that it is readable and replace it if corrupted. For a Website, inspect crawl errors, access restrictions, and path rules. For a synchronized Source, verify the Connector and upstream authorization.

Watch for stale material

Operational health and editorial freshness are different. Establish a review habit for high-impact Sources, particularly external material that can change without notifying Tindre.

Reconcile expected coverage

For Websites, compare expected and discovered pages. A green crawl with unexpectedly few pages is still a scope problem. Correct the Website configuration and run it again rather than manually recreating missing child pages.
